Artist and Art Educator living and creating in Connecticut

Ally Pedemonti is an artist and art educator living in Connecticut. Ally graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Art Education. From 2016-2021, Ally has been accepted into several juried group shows in Connecticut. Ally has completed a residency at Farmington Valley Arts Center during the summer of 2019.

Ally explores herself and the world around her through her work of portraiture with the use of whimsical, bold colors and dramatic shadows. Ally is fascinated by faces and the ability to capture an expression that may only occur in that moment of time. Some of her recent work has focused on food, specifically her relationship with food.

As a vegan, sometimes it is conceived that you may only eat an extremely "healthy" diet. Ally has been investigating her relationship with "junk food" through the recent series of self-portraits depicting the consumption of varying desserts. Ally's bold paintings are a relatable and humorous exploration of the relationship with food that may be deemed "unhealthy".
